The General Archive of the Indies is a real institution in Seville, distinct from Seville Cathedral and Columbus’s tomb. The Valmora material and its place in P.X are fictional. Atlas encounters the report as a news item rather than through a documented visit to an archival vault.

Seville Archives (General Archive of the Indies) · Historical Authority

Narrator POV /AA/

A real-world Spanish state archive located in Seville, housing primary documents related to the Spanish Empire’s administration of the Americas, including original journals, maps, correspondence, and expedition records from the 15th to 19th centuries. In this chapter, the Archive serves as the authentication source for the Valmora journal fragments, lending institutional legitimacy to material long dismissed as speculative.

Snorvix’s note /SN/

When an archive this old confirms something, it is not discovering the truth. It is admitting it can no longer keep pretending it never saw it.
