In the novel

Selected passages from P.X: No Man’s Space.

June 1815. At the Ballhausplatz, the Congress of Vienna pressed toward its final draft. The great hall carried more grandeur than trust, heavy with the scent of beeswax and stale cologne, its polished order beginning to fail. Beneath Baroque spires, diplomats crowded the forecourt, their arguments striking the palace stone. Through its marble corridors, the promise of peace had become something negotiated by exhaustion.
